Dead Squirrel (Ars longa, vita brevis)

Mihály Kolodko’s small sculpture *Dead Squirrel* (or, by its official title, *Ars longa, vita brevis*) was unveiled on 4 June 2018 in Budapest, near Jászai Mari Square, at the start of Falk Miksa Street (behind the Columbo statue, at the foot of an electrical cabinet). The title: ‘Ars longa, vita brevis’ is a Latin proverb meaning ‘Art is long, life is short’ – which, combined with the composition’s morbid humour, lends the work an ironic undertone.

Moonwalker

Hidden away on a street in central Budapest, a tiny lunar rover waits to be discovered. At first glance, it looks like nothing more than a charming little space vehicle. But behind it lies the story of two Hungarian scientists who helped bring us closer to the Moon. And why is it located on Hold Street, whose name means “Moon Street” in Hungarian? Well, that has a story of its own!
